Upcycling - Traid Re:Made

500,000 tonnes of unwanted clothing in Britain ends up in landfill each year.
It's estimated that 95% of the Textiles that are put into landfill could be recycled or re-used in some way.

Traid's aim is to reduce this figure by giving life to unwanted clothing through customisation and regeneration. I think this is an excellent idea for dealing with the waste that we already have, but going forward, how can we encourage people not to consume and waste at such high volumes? Is there a way to make clothing that is decompostable and follows the Cradle to Cradle theory that Waste = Food?
